วัดสังเวชวิศยารามวรวิหาร เดิมชื่อ “วัดสามจีน”
หรือ “วัดบางลำพู” ตั้งอยู่ริมคลองบางลำพู เขตพระนครสันนิษฐานว่าสร้างขึ้นก่อนการตั้งกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์
ต่อมารัชกาลที่ ๔ ได้พระราชทานนามใหม่ว่า “วัดสังเวช
วิศยาราม” ปัจจุบันมีฐานะเป็นพระอารามหลวงชั้นตรี ชนิดวรวิหาร
Wat Sungwej
Wisayaram
Worawiharn was originally named “Wat Sam Cheen” or
“Wat Banglamphu”. It is situated off
the bank of Banglamphu canal in Phra Nakhon district.
It was presumably established before the Rattanakosin
period. Later, King Rama IV bestowed the new name “Wat Sungwej Wisayaram”. Currently, it is a third-rank
Worawiharn royal temple.
